on the eve
I think I'm more excited that the American people elected an African-American man to the presidency, than I am about Obama, specifically. and that's pretty much the extent of how I feel about tomorrow... it's going to be so HISTORICAL. But I really don't understand why all these people are dropping everything and flying to D.C., and talking about how wonderful and perfect the World is going to be after tomorrow. That hope campaign has seriously caused a lot of people to put on rose-colored glasses and become DELUDED.
Regardless. I'm excited about the historical moment. What are we doing to celebrate? We're going out to dinner at a french restaurant in the neighborhood- reportedly, the place for many Obama meetings before he moved. The restaurant is probably the fanciest restaurant we have in this neighborhood and I've yet to go! So I'm looking forward to it. (Getting to check another box of the List of Things To Do in Chicago Before I Leave). They're having a pre-fixe menu. and my friend is bringing his 3-month old baby. We'll see how it goes! :) Hopefully, it doesn't involve crying.

i don't think you're giving obama enough credit. his candidacy is notable not only b/c it's historic, but b/c of the message he brings and his ability to get people to respond to it. none of the other candidates were able to do that. not even your hillary.
yes. because people are like LEMMINGS!
How did you like Le Petite Folie? I've had mixed experiences there. I was a little sad when I saw Hillary today and she wasn't President, but I was sadder when I saw Al Gore and thought, "Wow, it should so be him leaving office today and not Bush!"
